'Peregrine falcons are about the size of a crow and weigh about two pounds. They are 15 to 21 inches long with a wingspan of 3.5 feet'
http://www.kidsplanet.org/factsheets/peregrinefalcon.html
We have a few in NYC. They are at least twice the size of pidgeons. I have seen them strike a pidgeon at speed over Central Park. It is like a streak of black lightning or a tiny jet plane followed by an explosion of feathers followed by a larger bird gliding to Earth with something floppy in its claws. Females are larger than males by 150%. If you therefore see a male, you might think it is another species.
They are beautiful.
They apparently nest at St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC, and on several fire escapes about NYC. I've only seen those nests on TV.
