The video and sound quality is great on this cam. Be aware if applicable that it does not play to a Mac, Sony mini DV can. The instruction manual is not clear and I dont fathom how to edit the DVD while IN the cam,short of the function to erase the entire rewritable DVD. I returned to the Sony Store and the guys on duty did not know! I dont believe you can .The mini DV is easy to erase in cam . Convenience was however the clincher for the DVD choice in my case.
