PE licensure through comity ..... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 7 Apr 2007 16:16:18 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Anyone have experience obtaining PE licensure through comity, a.k.a. reciprocity?
I received my PE through examination back in '79 & '83, and am now looking to expand my license beyond my current single state for possible relocation during the final third of my career. My youngest son currently lives in NC which makes that state attractive for family reasons as well as for its rapid economic growth and pleasant climate.
I downloaded the North Carolina form which will allow me to apply through comity, and was pleasantly surprised to see it is very straight forward. The NC form requires the applicant's full employment history since graduation, but limits this to 1-1/2 pages with no attachments. Applicants are instructed to be both detailed in scope of responsibilites and brief. I have seen forms from other states which make the prospect of repeating the two 8-hours exams look more attractive than completing the comity application!
Anyone know of other states which combine a strong economy, pleasant weather, and straight forward comity applications?
Thanks,
