It wasn't from any of the site sponsors here, in fact has nothing to do with my Saab or anything automotive. I've ordered from this site before without any problems until now. But from the email I sent already, I get the feeling they are really going to be firm on that fee, regardless of the situation. And I'm sure any complaining would fall on death ears.
I thought about disputing the charge, but I think I remember reading something about a $50 rule with that card, which is basically I'm liable for anything under $50 (it's a debit card by the way). So I don't think that will work. Years ago, my father had AOL, and AOL refused to cancel the service when he didn't want it anymore. He just called the credit card company and had the number changed. Solved that problem. So that's why I was thinking of doing the same! I was mainly worried, would they go after me for $10? Would it be worth it? Would a collection agency even bother for that little amount, especially when no goods or services were even transacted?
Worst case, I'll just let the order go through. I really don't want to pay money for a "cancellation fee", like I'm paying someone for absolutely nothing. Just very disappointed in the customer service when I really needed it. Ready to be done with these people!
