we used it several times on a recent trip. Frankly, it's not very smart. It WILL get you to your destination, but it rarely took the route that was shortest or fastest or made the most logical sense. Granted, there is always more than one way to get somewhere, but one or two of those ways are better than the others. Whatever brain the VZ system uses never picked the best route. For instance, if the obvious choice would be to use exit 30, for some reason it would take you off at exit 28 instead and then route you on a parallel street to the freeway to exit 30, then set you on your way. Very odd. What's nice is that at least with the LG phone she has, you can hear the voice clearly and the image on the screen is pretty good-sized, esp. if the person riding shotgun is in charge of holding and interpreting the readout. The most amusing part is if you make a wrong turn or the GPS gets confused, then the phone starts repeating "recalculating" until it finds itself.
Better than nothing, and worth trying, but I bet a Garmin or such would serve better.
