Limited Slip Differentials (New Car Question)

So, my '05 9-5 Arc Wagon comes off lease in three weeks. I'm finding that I need something with a little more snow prowess. We drive frequently in some of the snowier areas of Colorado. With 4 studded Gislaveds, the car has done well. But, we cover some very remote roads where you could have to spend the night if you get stuck or go off the road and we've had a couple of challenges. Parking lots and getting around in traffic have also posed some problems. So, I'm seriously looking at used Audi A4s (similar gas mileage, plus quattro AWD). I know they're small inside. Subarus are a non-start with the wife.
Lets be honest - putting on chains/cables is a PIA in the dark with cold hands.
I had another thought though. Can a LSD be fitted to a 9-3 Sportcombi? Probably not to my 9-5 with the sentronic automatic...
For what recent model year saabs can you get a LSD? NOT traction control - a true mechanical differential. And, would this be effective?
We can't wait for the 9-3 with XWD to be offered with the 2.0T and we find the fuel economy with the turbo 6 to be unacceptable.
What are my other options? Are there any other FWD cars with a real LSD? Other quality AWD cars besides audi that are rated for 28 to 30+ highway and achieve that?
Thanks for your advice
