I remember my first car, a classic 900 from the early 80's. It had no key fob, no central locking. You would unlock and open the door for the lady who would lean over and unlock the driver's door.
Then central locking came around.
Now it's a key fob. You unlock the doors and it's every man for himself. Hope the key fob battery lasts a while! It is easier this way, though.
The bad part of new cars is many don't have a side molding so there are more dents. The 2008 9-3 got rid of it. Toyota Camrys, Acuras and many lack them now.
