This one probably doesn't have enough height to lift the front wheels off the ground in a center jacking configuration on a 9-5, c900 maybe. You want a jack that is low enough to the ground to slide under any of your cars, and lifts high enough to do the job. I have a nice lightweight aluminum one that is good for the C900, but not high enough for my 9-5, so I have a bigger jack for that. The small one is nice if you want something portable.
Loosen the lugs first as other have mentioned. For changing tires, you should not have to go under the car, thus jack stands are probably not needed, but they are cheap and you should have them around for other car work.
There is a metal tab in the back of the C900, 9-5, 9-3og. I put a small piece of plywood on my jack (it's softer than metal against painted metal) and lift the rear of the car, change both rear wheels. There is a brace under the front of the c900 (back of skid plate) and 9-5 (indicated by a dimple/hole). Here you can lift the whole front of the car and change the front wheels.
