Dewalt DW706 dual bevel, non-sliding, 12" blade, Posted by nicknick [Email] (#731) [Profile/Gallery] (more from nicknick) on Sun, 27 Apr 2008 18:36:26 In Reply to: Re: OT: Power Mitre Box Recommendations, Boston Baab, Sun, 27 Apr 2008 15:26:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
costs around $269 or so, worth every penny. used one for commercial and diy projects for a few years now. it has the belt drive for really smooth cuts, bigger blade for bigger crown moldings, the blades last a long time, BTW, so don't even think of a 10" blade on a mitre saw-waste of time.
laser, waste of time. (it doesn't have one)
don't think about sliding compounds, unless you regularly cut 12" shelves. it's more expensive, and more to wear out.
ryobi is garbage, now.
spend those few extra $$ and get something that is a joy to use.
take my word for it, this saw is the one to have.
BTW, you don't need to get fancy with crown moldings. you just prop the crown molding, upside down, and use a standard mitre cut. biggest myth in the carpentry world (earns me $$$, though!)
good luck, watch the fingers!
