Hey, this is actually a first for me, but this is something I've become pretty passionate about. As many of you know, I'm deeply involved in microfinance to the point that I'm founding a non-profit in that area (we got our approved California Incorporation documents last week). I'm asking for two favors from Saabneters who are inclined to do so.. if you've appreciated Saabnet.com over any portion of the last 20 years, perhaps you'll consider this favor request.

1. Kiva.org provides a personal lending technology platform that has provided almost $50 million in Microfinance around the world (they are adding the US to their supported countries list pretty soon). Right now, American Express is running a Members Project and the winner gets $1.5M in cash for operational expenses. Kiva is in the top 5. If you have an American Express card, would you please, please vote for them asap?

2. My non-profit, Poverty2Prosperity.org, has a lending team on Kiva and it is doing well: Out of 1,300+ teams: 4th in number of loans, 4th in total amount loaned, 5th in total members. Please consider following the link below to join Team P2P and to make just one single $25 loan. This isn't a donation. Once the loan is paid back (terms range from 1 month to 12 months typically, some as long as 18), you can easily withdraw your $25 back out, but this would mean a huge boost to Team P2P in terms of members and number of loans. I would consider this a real personal favor. If you do this, please email me your lender profile link so I can thank you properly on the site.
