old sci-fi story by H.G. Wells. It was about a guy who made a potion that made him invisible. To get around he would dress head to toe in dark clothes and wrap bandages around his head and face, wear a broad brimmed hat, sunglasses and gloves. Cut a slot at your mouth so you can eat and drink.
I did this some years back and it was one of the best costumes at the party. It was half people from some company, plus lots of their friends. I only knew about 4 people there but people from the company were trying to figure out who I was all night long. "Oh, I know, you're that guy down in (fill in the blank)."
And it was a hoot driving to the party, too. Got a lot of looks from other drivers. Done right you look pretty sinister.
