I recently purchased an Asus Eee 1000HA and am very happy with it. This particular model comes with a 10" screen, 1GB memory, and 160GB hard drive. It came pre-loaded with Windows XP, but I prefer Linux and loaded the "Ubuntu Eee" distribution (http://www.ubuntu-eee.com), and bumped memory up to the maximum of 2GB.
The keyboard is just a little on the small side, but is easy to adjust to. Battery life is about 4 hours. Display resolution is 1024x600, which takes a little getting used to. I tend to hide or remove all unnecessary toolbars or status bars in applications in order to free up as much vertical screen space as possible.
A nice thing on this model is that it is very easy to get to the memory and hard drive for upgrades or repair, just a couple of screws releases a hatch on the underside. (In comparison, the Acer Aspire One requires just about complete disassembly of the machine for this. Not sure about others.) The hard drive is a standard 2.5" SATA model, so you can pretty much put anything you want in there.
