I do not have experience with your model, however I just discovered the same thing on our 9000's. It hasn't broken free yet but surely will sooner or later. I found a guy who is going to weld some brackets in then seal and undercoat it. You may be able to do the same. Yes they are different model cars but the idea should work just the same. Try posting to the ng900 board, someone there may have encountered this. Good luck!
