What should a family do if a senior doesn't know how to buy things or buys too many things?
example 1: Person A constantly buys clothes, usually just low cost clothes that are on sale. Each article is cheap, maybe $10-20. However, the house is completely full with clothes. Clothes on all the chairs. Clothes stacked 3-4" high resembling a wall and lining all the walls, in the middle of the room, etc.
example 2: Person B (never met) had a similar habit except for books and magazines. Person B, according to the newspaper died when a wall of stacked books tipped over suffocating him.
example 3: Person C buys TVs. Doesn't know how to choose the model. Buys what they don't need. Buys thinking that they will get a better picture but doesn't get the right setup (no special antenna or cable). Also buys DVD's but doesn't watch them even once. For one time viewing of films that have not been just released, renting DVDs or even going to the library may be a good idea. Buying is if you want to watch it twice or more (like kids watching it 15 times).
Money may be an issue. Storage space is certainly an issue. The family of person C has about 8 TVs, none of them very good.
