Some cable users are seeing the same thing, apparantly the cable companies would take in an over the air analog signal and rebroadcast it out through the digital cable lines.
In the reorganization to make more frequencies available for digital signals, analog channel broadcasts are being stopped for everyone and even if you have cable, those broadcasts are gone for you too, not just the rabbit ears user. You have to find the digital replacement for that channel/broadcast (ie: local PBS station).
Solution may be to get a digital tuner HDTV and pull in the available free HD broadcast (over the air) signals, which can be caught with simple rabbit ears.
There is a website that tells you what free HD signals are available over the air for a given zip code, and where to point your antenna. I'll try to find it and repost. Friends of mine hooked up the rabbit ears in their attic to the second hdmi input on their HDTV and switch between cable input and antenna input for the same broadcast, many times the rabbit ears reception is clearer than cable signal, due to the quality and type of the cable company equipment from source to enduser.
