The only one I've ever heard of is the DR Field and Brush Mower. I think it works with a heavy line-type cutter.
I used a specially-equipped weed wacker when I had to do a similar job once. It had a 10" metal blade like the one on a lawnmower and a special attachment to keep the grass from wrapping around the shaft. I know it was made by Homelite but it was like 15 years ago so I can't remember the model.
