Fly vs drive: I measure door to door time and $$

Several times a year I go to Rochester, NY from home in NH. It is about 380 miles door to door and takes about 6.5 to 7 hours on the road.
If I fly I have to go MHT to PHL to ROC. If it all works perfectly (like that happens) it is 6 hours, but I still have to get to my client's offices, which are 10 to 30 miles from ROC. Coming back, it's never less than 7.5 and has taken 10. And it can cost from $300 to $600. So I almost always drive.
Same with NYC which is a 4:15 min drive with bio-breaks. The plane is faster, but the door-to-door to mid-town is about the same. And driving is lots cheaper than a $400 roundtrip plane fare.
And no TSA! Like you, I've driven LA to SF, SF to Sacramento. Also Chicago to Buffalo, Austin to Houston, and others. Sometimes the hassle with the airlines is really not worth it.
