...95% of the US population is automotively-retarded (and 2/3's of all statistics are made up on the spot). If a person doesn't have their rear fog light on in daylight, chances are pretty good that they only have their DRL's on at night! Their dash lights are illuminated, and there are dim running lights on in the front of their car... but they have no rear lights or regular headlights on! And they get pissed at ME when I flash my high-beams at them... pssh. Most auto-makers vastly over-estimate our intelligence when they engineer the lighting systems on our cars.
