Sales of 9-5's have tanked so badly...... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Thu, 5 Nov 2009 04:16:05 In Reply to: The elephant in the room?, MJP, Wed, 4 Nov 2009 14:15:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Sales of 9-5's have tanked so badly, due in large part to it being a 12 year old design, that a 6 month hiatus of 9-5 modles may be a good thing. At least it gives the Dealers an opportunity to clear any remaining models from their lots.
Can you imagine how difficult it would be to sell an OG 9-5 when the NG 9-5 is sitting next to it? Unless there is a big cost difference (let's hope not!) the old car may never sell.
I believe the 9-3 is still being built with no interruption - other than the convertible being moved from Magna-Styr in Austria back to Trollhattan - and the 9-3 is the volume car currently.
