If the big 3 couldn't compete with the Japanese and Koreans how do they expect to compete with the Chinese? Would average Joe rather have a 2010 Malibu for $35K or a 2009 9-5 with the GM kinks worked out and updated soft features like Bluetooth instead of Onstar (heck it is already there, just not in the US version) for say $25K. As long as the Chinese don't use junk steel or keep making the same problem parts the same way, the Saab is a better car for less and the big 3 once again can't compete leading to another and probably/hopefully final bankruptcy. After all, did we really need to save Chrysler the first time around?
Also, aren’t the big 3 giving up any technology edge in the Chinese market by selling this technology. Sure it is outdated, but not by much and maybe some is still more advanced than what is on the Chinese Buicks GM is pushing.
Why would another buyer be interested in having this Chinese competitor around? Seems this makes it harder to sell Saab.
