Coming up on my warranty expiration, think I might well reup after that story!
It's fine when doing "normal" applications, but as soon as I fire up anything with 3D graphics (from flash games to Dragon Age) the GPU heats up to the ~190C range. Some parts of the case are painfully hot to the touch and who ever is next to me gets a free handwarm from the exhaust. No problems yet, but I've been scared they're around the corner for a while (not unlike owning a Saab :P).
I've worked to ensure proper air circulation around the case but there's definitely a need for greater cooling capacity in that line of computers. I love having a gaming laptop but I sincerely hope they've addressed this in later generations of the XPS.
Good luck!
