For those that are swearing off ever buying from GM again, I understand the sentiment, and I'm kind of there myself. But, GMs most important owner these days is the US Government, and GM has stated the intention of paying off the loans by sometime next year. I don't know how they are going to do that, but when things are as dire as they are at GM these days, and the loans have to be paid off sometime, if not next year, no one can make the case for holding SAAB. I would think some at GM are as sad as the SAAB community in general is, but when the camel's nose is under the tent, you have to pay attention to the camel.
The whole thing is a mess, but one thing that I'd say is we're witnessing the movement of industrial capacity from the West to the East. Overcapacity has been an issue in the auto industry for years. I hope no one who is livid w/GM plans to buy Korean next time....
