Dec. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Spyker Cars NV’s revised bid for General Motors Co.’s Saab unit still calls for a loan from the European Investment Bank, the European Union’s lending arm, according to Chief Executive Officer Victor Muller.
The new bid removes a condition that an approval of the loan must be made by Dec. 31, Muller said in a telephone interview today. Spyker shareholder Mubadala Development Co. is not involved in the financing of the bid, the CEO said. He declined to comment whether Russian businessman Vladimir Antonov, Spyker’s biggest shareholder, is still participating in Spyker’s offer.
It is “very hard to predict the outcome,” Muller said, adding that talks with GM are continuing. Spyker plans to contact the EIB today and let the bank know that its bid is still on, he said.
