"Thank you for contacting the Saab Customer Assistance Center. We appreciate you taking the time to write us in regards to your feedback.
We understand how the decision to phase out the Saab brand is incredibly painful for each member of our loyal customer base. Please know that every possible outcome was intensely studied before this decision was made. The agreement to discontinue the Saab line was equally as painful for every member of the Saab Team, from our corporate employees to the personnel at our local dealerships.
Saab will of course continue to honor all existing warranties, while providing service and parts to current Saab owners around the world.
Please check our GM website for more updates as they become available: http://www.gm.com/corporate/about/news/index.jsp?deep=press
In these difficult times, your satisfaction as a customer remains a key mission to us at Saab and General Motors. If you should need to contact us in the future, simply reply to this message or call our Saab Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-955-9007. Customer Relationship Specialists are available Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET.
Again, thank you for contacting Saab.
Sincerely,
The SAAB Consumer Support Team"
Message: Winding down SAAB is a bad decision given the current state of development of the new platforms. Given some time and smart decisions on where SAAB is in marketplace SAAB could have come back a strong company in 2 years when the economy bounces back. SAAB is not just a division like Pontiac or Saturn, SAAB is a complete company and identity.
I have owned 4 new SAABs since 1999, the latest '08 being the best overall. This is a typical play from the GM playbook, kill something just when you start getting it right, like the last year Fiero, Allante, Eldorado, etc, etc. Shame on you GM.
