I bought a David Clark H10 13.4 as soon as it was introduced. Although the active noise reduction was good, I found it to be a head squeezer and very uncomfortable. I upgraded to a Lightspeed thirty three G and really, really enjoyed that, especially on long trips. Last year I upgraded to the new Lightspeed Zulu primarily because of it's built in Bluetooth interface. There is alot of hype around the Zulu, but truthfully I found the thirty three G to be more comfortable. If I had a $300 budget, I would seriously consider a used thirty three G.
Fortunately I live an hours flight from Sporty's, so it's easy to fly down there and try things out before you buy (at least for 10 minutes in the store).
