People have walked away from some pretty horrific accidents in Saabs, and more and more people list safety as a leading consideration when buying a car.
Seems to me that Saab could leverage the fact that its cars are built to protect occupants in real-world collisions, not the staged and perfectly aligned ones used by NHTSA and IIHS. There is LOTS of data to support any claims. It's one of the leading reasons my whole family is in Saabs. You want your family in cars that can take a hit.
As for the Suby, it was totaled, but it was not one of those massive collisions where there's no straight metal on the car. And it was a passenger side impact. It just looked like your average 35 mph accident. I'm not impressed.
