OT: 93 octane for only 89 cents/gallon! Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Thu, 27 May 2010 14:20:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I stopped at one of my regualr re-fueling locations tonight on the drive home, a run down liquor store in a shady part of town with a couple of old beat up gas pumps. Possibly not the best location at night but cheap gas during day light hours.
As I grab the Premium nozzle I zaw the LCD display is reading 08igured the display is just out of whack and the real price is $3.08. As the gas is rushing into my tank I noticed the string of dollar digits on the pump is advancing slower than the gallon digits. I take another look at the price window and realize the gas is really only 87.9 cents per gallon!
Yee-haw! Then it hit me, I paid with a credit card, my savings will be very short lived. I saved the receipt showing 13.998 gallon of gasoline purchased to prove my account should only be corrected by $28 dollars.
I could have gone inside and alerted them but I am certain it will be corrected later and I don't want to pay the extra $2/gallon at the store AND pay the extra $2/gallon with my credit card statement. All of these mis-priced gas stories that hit the media always end with the billings corrected later.
