I know that the 10,20,30 free maintenance has a 3-yr limitation.
I just picked up a 2007 that has only 16k miles, and the 3-yr window closes this September. The oil was changed just 4 months and 4k miles ago. I don't know the compete details of last owner's driving habits, but have to assume it could include many short trips, so I'm tempted to change it now.
I can probably get close enough to 20k before the Sept deadline to have dealer do the 20k service.
Until I talk to dealer, I'm guessing I'm out of luck to get the 30k cabin filter. Other than oil changes and cabin filter, everything else with 10,20,30 service is just inspection and topping fluids, right? Maybe get door hinges lubed, there's really nothing else included?
For now, if I've got another oil change coming up in 4-5k miles, 4 months, and it was just changed 4k, 4 months ago, I'm tempted to just change the oil, not the filter. My normal driving includes plenty of opportunity to properly warm the oil, I have no problem going 8-9k miles between changes (obviously full synth).
