Back before I got real busy with my kids, I logged about 4000 miles with that set up. Many 20 - 50 mile rides in and around the steep hills of San Diego. Even did my own century ride on the Paul Bunyan trail in Minnesota.
Look for the CyclePro Streetster Kevlar tire that can take 100 PSI. Most shops don't carry them and instead will look at you funny and try to sell you some other brand of 1.5" tire that only goes to 65 PSI. Stand your ground. The Streetsters will go thousands of miles and are very smooth and fast.
