In simple terms Chevy claims about 3 miles of city driving require 1 kilowatt hour of electricity. The battery can provide about 18kWh of power, but they will limit how much the battery can be discharged to about 11 kWh to give longer battery life.
The price you pay for electricity varies widely, look at your bill for some guidance. However an average is about $.10 per kWh. So that takes you 3 miles in city driving. You can get about 33 miles from the battery charge and that will cost about $1.10 to fill it back up.
Big gotcha in leasing a Volt is the fact you need to really use it to justify the running cost savings. But it is limited to 12,000 miles per year so ur stuck !
