Not because this is a Saab board but because they are great winter cars.
I live in NH and know snow. We have 4 Saabs and run 4 snows on each car and they never fail to get us through the worst of winter. Elder daughter did 4 winters in Maine in college with her '95 9K. A Saab is a lot more solid than a Suby and a lot less complex than an Audi.
If I was buying a winter rat I'd actually get a 4WD truck of some kind (great to take skiing!), a Taurus (a fine snow car!) or an old Crown Vic. Put four snow tires on it and cruise through winter.
