My folks replaced their '06 9-5 with an '09 Malibu LTZ V6. But, the LTZ V6 has 18" wheels, different suspension calibration, more sensitive steering, etc etc etc...really a very different experience than an LT (if you're referring to a previous generation Malibu, then that's a whole different story as well). The steering in the '09 LTZ V6 feels heavier and more accurate than our '06 9-5 did. The ride is comparable in my opinion. The 9-5 only bested the Malibu in handling at the absolute limits.

This is coming from someone w/ a 9-3 with an Eibach/Bilstein setup and every other possible handling enhancement :P
