is not bad if you can have it at 3Mbps down and 1.5Mbps up.
I used to have Verizon DSL until Verizon stopped maintaining the copper lines in our area as they told us the copper lines are just too plain old and worn and too expensive for them to keep up as they ran out of spare wires to switch people around. So they offered a reasonable package deal through FIOS for everyone in the area.
Verizon FIOS has been utterly reliable and fast, we got the usual bundle with true 15Mbps up and 5Mbps down plus two phone lines but no TV. They waived our installation plus a free wireless modem router and discount for two years. The monthly cost with discount for FIOS bundle is a bit cheaper than two copper lines and DSL on one line. However, as usual, the cost is going to be about the same in two years when the discount runs out.
