at least with saabs... I meant to look up the EPA test spec a while back (when this came up before)... Seems normal to get highway mpg way better than EPA in Saabs whereas, my experience in other cars is I get way lower than EPA... Eg the Subarus I've rented have similar highway EPA ratings to the 9-5, yet driving 2 Subies and a 9-5 on the same route (1000 miles) at the same speeds (75mph average), the 9-5 was significantly better than EPA, both Subies were waaay under... this was with careful measurements from the odometer + the pump.
It's like they test for EPA with the turbo in the red or something ;-)
