Matts Carlsson, an automotive analyst at Goteborg Management Institute, said he wasnât surprised that the hastened Hawtai deal fell through, but said he is âconvincedâ Saab can find another, better Chinese collaboration partner.
âIf you look at a list with the 20 most interesting car companies in China, Hawtai is not on that list,â he said. âSo this could be positive.â
However, he added the uncertainty surrounding the ownership is negative for consumerâs confidence in the brand.
Spykerâs shares fell 10.7 per cent in midday trading in Amsterdam, to â¬3.75 ($5.38).
