if you have a lot of chipmunks you could spend the summer carting the captives to their new homes, preferably in another zip code.

I used a Hav a Heart once (borrowed from a neighbor) but we have a LOT of chipmunks this year and I'm ready to be more aggressive. Way too many holes in the lawn that aren't moles or voles because I see the chipmunks going in and out of the holes.

I like the water and sunflower seeds in the bucket idea. I guess drowning is better than poisons, which shut down their kidneys or causes internal bleeding.

The things are getting to be pests, and there are more than the local fox, coyote and feral cat population can handle.
