All other things being equal, keep the vert! The other two are sedans and "interchangeable".... so its a toss up...

But since not all things are equal, spend the $100 or so & have a "pre-purchase" inspection done so you really know what is right/wrong with the car. I'd say keep both for long enough to drive & live with Jetta & get a real feel for the car (you may love it or hate it). And if needed, at least both these things will give you cover if you sell the Jetta and that might upset the gift giver.
