I owned a 2007 Acura TL Type which I bought brand new in 2007. EXCEPTIONAL car. Wickedly fast, quiet, all the gadgets, etc... and best of all Acura/Honda reliability. All I did was change the oil. As all Japanese cars, nothing ever broke, everything always worked. I wish I had it today. A few years after I bought it, I was at Acura getting an accessory when a service tech saw the car (the TL-S was very special, limited number made... Black car with cream interior with black piping) Anyway, he made me an offer to buy the car. As they said in the "Godfather", he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I made just under 6k for the car which I used as a down payment on another car.
Even though I've had SAABS pretty much my adult life, the Japanese have the quality. I wouldn't hesitate to own one. The newer ones look a little funky to me, but that's just my taste. Funny thing, I was just at Acura getting an oil filter for my sis's car and saw the TL in the employee lot. The tech was behind the counter and I asked how many times he had to have the TL fixed, he said he did have to add washer fluid a few times... everyone laughed. If you can find one in those years you mentioned, buy it.
