does appeal to the eccentric in me. We'd be like Merkur or Alfa owners--it would certainly weed out the "fair weather friends" and owners with only a casual interest. You'd have to be a real die-hard or really crazy (I'm not all that sure there's a real difference) to own a Saab. Anyone can drive a mainstream car with dealers and parts--it takes real skill and science to drive a car that has neither.
