I have a good muffler shop locally. When the center muffler went on my '95 Aero, I followed suggestions on the 9k board and simply put in a straight pipe. The local shop used heavy gauge steel which should last as long or longer than Starla muffler. Stainless is a bit more, and should last much longer.
The sound was just slightly louder than the original muffler. I think the turbo helps muffle the sound. Conservative wife was fine with the sound, so definately no vroom, vroom. Cost was under $100, which was considerably less than the Starla at eEuro.
That said, I've bought a lot of rear mufflers from eEuro for my 9ks, and love working with them, so either way you go I'll back the opinion to buy exhaust parts from them.
