We recently replaced an old Asko washer and dryer. We liked them a lot, and they washed a ton of loads, but the washer was really small. And, the repairs were getting ridiculous. The dryer was having intermittent problems overheating. Threw a lot of parts at it to avoid what it probably needed--a new control board. We put two motors in the washer over the many years we had it (we bought it used), and those aren't cheap. I've been told it had a faulty design leading to premature brush wear. Probably could be repaired, but I never located someone willing to give it a shot.
We've had an Asko dishwasher for 7 or 8 years that has been great!
With all that said, we shopped the new Asko models last year, but ended up with a large capacity front loading Samsung that has been so much better in every way (good sale at Lowes + consumer reports rating). The Askos were just way to expensive. The question is how will the Samsung last. We have no mold issues, but it is something to consider. We live in dry Colorado, so that probably helps. We always leave the door open after use and use a rag to dry the door seals.
