bonds you would have a very different (vue) of this. If you watched 100 years of bankruptcy law turned on its head while your bonds were taken out back and shot, you wouldn't see this the way treasury is portraying it. If I told you, you owe nothing more on your house you would be in great fiscal shape. If told you your neighbor owed nothing more on their house, the day after you paid off your house through hard work, you may feel differently as they towed their boat to the lake.
I don't mean you specifically but the bigger you or us. All of us. You will pay for this just as I already have in my small way by losing my investment and paying my taxes. I'm sure most here are subject to a least the latter. The bigger problem will be when GM returns to the bond market. (and they may have for all I know) I have bought no corporate bonds since or government bonds for that matter. I will wait patiently for the day to short bonds in what is arguably the greatest bubble so far in my lifetime. If I sound mad I am. I get pissed following the law while others around me are allowed to break it and even madder when it's my government sworn to up hold the said law who facilitates the breaking.
As a final insult we live in world today that thinks this makes me selfish. I have to climb off my soap box now and take a breath. I'm getting dizzy and my HSA has a high deductible.
