Watering can - don't make em like they used to... Posted by GFW3pedals [Email] (#405) [Profile/Gallery] (more from GFW3pedals) on Fri, 13 Jul 2012 06:13:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
We do a lot of gardening, it helps keep the sanity intact from the madness of home repairs and Saab repairs. I remember as a child the watering cans we had around the house. They were HEAVY metal and at least 3 or more gallon capacity. You could throw/kick/bang them and they would coom back for more. My gal bought me a "metal" one recently. What a piece of crap. Looks nice, soldered seams, brass rose sprinkler, rubber handle. Just amazingly fragile. I remember being able to use the cans handle as a pushoff helper when going from a crouch to standing. I did this instinctively with the new can, oh it wasn't pretty. Crushed the handle and almost the body of the can too. In shopping for a stronger one just now, seems you really can't find them like the old ones. The popular professional ones from a company called Haws are 130.00+ !!! wow ! I think I need to get into the watering can building business.
