OT: Anyone have credit card fraud after Square charge? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 17 Mar 2013 16:29:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The wife and I went to a Craft Show yesterday. Most transactions were cash but my wife charged $21 for a piece of jewelry at one vendor's booth who used a Square device attached to the vendor's cell phone to transact a Credit Charge transaction.
Today we had four fraudalent CC transactions on our primary charge account. (Bank of America is VERY GOOD at finding and stopping these - regardless of their other problems.) All were minor amounts, ranging from $1 to $34 and change.
Coincidence? Or is this a common problem with the Square CC readers? I suspect someone intercepted the cell phone signal at the Craft Show. Jack Dorsey, founder of Twitter and Square, is being interviewed on 60 Minutes tonight. Ironic.
