I think I finally achieved success today in eliminating the infuriating advertisements that would travel across articles we would be attempting to read while using Internet Explorer, or ads that would position themselves directly over the article text with no way to drag them out of the way.
Today's big gain was achieved by using the "Manage Add-Ons" feature within I-E Tools to disable all add-ons from any software source I did not recognize. I never knew what add-ons were until today.
I still need to get rid of a bunch more irksome advertisements that I-E wraps the story text around. They don't interfere with reading the articles but I feel there are far too many.
I have blocked all third party cookies but suspect I may need to temporarily unblock them so that our system can accept the Opt-Out cookies from the internet advertising companies. Funny how every time you request to Opt-Out, 90% of the companies are experiencing temporary system problems that do not allow them to accept your request.
Things have gotten to the point where the mere existence of these ads cause me to NOT DESIRE TO PURCHASE that specific brand item, regardless if I had earlier searched for items within that category to assist with an upcoming planned purchase.
