Compressor is probably OK if only run briefly, but obviously you have a pretty bad leak that needs to be found and fixed. (Beware of sealers, they cause more problems than they solve!) If there is at least a few pounds of static pressure in the system then atmosphere has not gotten into it, but if no pressure at all then there is contamination from air and moisture that would need to be dealt with.
