I wouldn't recommend adjusting that calibration screw, unless you only want to torque at that one value you checked. It's only one part of the adjustment process. If you really wanted to calibrate your click type against your beam type, here's how you do it:
1. Check at 20% of scale and note reading
2. Check at 100% of scale and note reading
3. If the span is not 80% (i.e. difference in reading from 40 ft-lb to 200 ft-lb is not 160), then adjust the screw and re-check the two readings. It doesn't matter what the absolute readings are; e.g. 50 and 210 is perfect. Repeat this process until you are satisfied it's close enough.
4. Set the wrench such that you get a reading of 20% of full scale. Once you have it, remove the handle and re-install it at the 20% setting.
5. Re-check your readings at 20% and 100%.
If your wrench doesn't have the calibration screw, then a different adjustment method is required, although you can usually still make slight adjustments using the handle.
