The 6-speed auto in my Encore is the best automatic I have ever driven. And I have owned over 20 cars most manual transmissions. It down shifts with little input and upshifts with super smoothness. Unlike the 5-Aisin in my 04 9-5 Arc can be jerky.
I wouldn't compare the diesel tran programming between the cars. But my 300 lbs heavier Encore shifts great.
