From the MJM website: "Our goal is to achieve customer service and fair pricing that is second to none in our industry, offer products that we believe in and know to be the best for your vehicle, and to be there for you before, during, and after the sale of your product - whether it be a $5 or $500 part. We believe our goals in succeeding are accomplished only with hard work, a dedication to what we do, and unparalleled communication with our customers. " Basically a bunch of bs they threw together thinking it will gain them some sales.
That has got to make you angry. Companies like this turn my stomach.
I would find a small time local lawyer who would write them a letter on your behalf. The threat of a court proceeding might wake them up. I would ask for your $450 plus interest. The lawyer might charge you a couple hundred bucks, perhaps payable if MJM makes good. It might be worth it just to make MJM squirm.
The MJM staff directory makes them out like a bunch of wingnuts whos crendentials are basically that they are cool guys who like to tear it up in their VWs. (I am paraphrasing) For comparison take a look at the Eeuroparts "about us" page and tell me which company looks like a professional opperation.
