You say theory like it's not a good thing. A scientific theory has to be supported by evidence and has to stand up to attempts to prove it wrong (that's how it becomes a theory). We have every reason to believe a black hole is an extremely dense mass in a tiny space. We have studied the mechanisms by which it occurs. I'm pretty sure we've even witnessed the creation of black holes. There's no debate in the scientific community over what a black hole is. Yes, in the absolute sense you could say we don't know for sure. By the same token, tomorrow up may become down and the Sun may turn into large fish and swim away on a magical wave of chocolate syrup. All these suppositions are equally supported by evidence.
